  16. I have observed recently that if my network connection through which I
  17. am connected to my UNIX host (via telnet) goes down, my kermit session
  18. hangs around and must be killed when I log back on; that is, by hunting
  19. it down with ps.  Any suggestions on how to make kermit die as well.
  20. It seems that other people are experiencing the same thing and as
  21. these "detached" processes build up they lock us out of the modems they
  22. are connected with until someone detects and kills them.
